Experience St Austell Brewery in action. We’ll show you around our brewing home that we’ve occupied for over 150 years, introducing you to the brewing process, the equipment we use and the stories behind our famous ales.

Our Brewing Experience tour walks you through our history, our wall of fame, Small Batch Brewery and more. Want to gain a little more insight brewing? Upgrade to our Brewhouse Tour, which takes you to the very top of our redbrick Victorian brewhouse. Both tours finish with a sampling session in our Small Batch Brewery. Our experts will talk you through a range of St Austell’s finest beers – from classic favourites, to new and exciting brews.

St Austell Brewery Visitor Centre is open Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5.30pm and Sundays 10am to 4pm.  Just like our beers, our tours are extremely popular, so we recommend booking in advance. When you come along for your tour please wear sensible, closed toed shoes, if you've picked our Brewhouse tour, please be aware, there are quite a few steep steps and small spaces to negotiate. Please note, even our brewers need a break from beer sometimes. When you visit our site we may be bottling, brewing or having a break. Brewing Experience Tours are only available to those over the age of 14 and Brewhouse Tours for those aged over 18.

Call the Visitor Centre on 01726 66022 or email vcoffice@staustellbrewery.co.uk to book your place!

In case we are hosting a private party or needing essential maintenance please check with our website and Facebook that all areas of the Visitor Centre are open.

You do not have to take a tour to visit the brewery, watch through the windows in the beer hall to see the bottling line in action and explore our brewing experience and small batch brewery for just £5.00.

Walters Walk

Everything in the main Brewing Experience arena is about the ale, so why not put down your glass for a while and take a stroll down memory lane as we show you how things used to be done at the Brewery.

Find out how the Brewery and its people played their part in the war efforts, take in the carefully reconstructed Cooper’s yard and get your hands on some of our oldest equipment and machinery from the days of steam brewing.

Beer Sampling

Everyone’s favourite part of the Experience!

Get the lowdown on our biggest brands on the market and our newest babies from the Small Batch Brewery with a tutored beer sampling session that guides you through the different styles and flavours of our beers, from hoppy to malty and every shade in between.

Hand over your token and prepare to have your taste buds blown away.

The Brewing Process

See how our award-winning beers are produced with our virtual walkthrough, followed by a visit to the Small Batch Brewery, accompanied by our experienced Brewing Ambassadors.

We may be brewing less in terms of quantity but the flavours are still full-on and you’ll even get to see where Tribute and Proper Job were born!
